China facing 30 gigawatt energy shortage

A combination of  factors led by drought and high coal prices has China facing an energy pinch.  Business China reports that the nation expects a 30 gigawatt shortage this summer, and the central government has raised electricity prices on industrial, commercial and agricultural customers to pinch off demand.
