Heritage lists the negatives to increased fuel & emission standards
April 2, 2010Heritage Foundation’s Foundry blog rounds up a list of negatives attached to the newly announced mileage and emissions standards from the Obama administration.
One thing they don’t list: The horsepower wars are over. Cars, trucks and SUVs have been getting more and more powerful over the past two decades, but that trend is about to reverse. If you want a high horsepower, high torque vehicle, 2011 might be the last model year the big ones are available, so go out and get one now.
Of course, the 2011 Mustang is a hopeful sign – the first car ever to get a 30MPG highway rating will pushing 300 ponies.
